At the 21st National Congress for Green Industrial and Service Units, Arya Sasol Polymer Company (ASPC) succeeded to win the “gold” award as the “best company in green industry” for the third successive year for its outstanding and permanent performance in environmental protection and sustainable development.

According to the public relations department of Arya Sasol Polymer Company (ASPC), the 21th National Congress for Green Industrial and Service Units was held here in Tehran at the venue of the Department of Environment (DOE) on 16 February this year with the participation of Vice President and Iran’s Head of DOE Isa Kalantari, Minister of Petroleum, Bijan Namdar Zanganeh, representative of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization in Iran (UNIDO), and a number of high-ranking officials and directors active in the fields of industry, oil, and environment.

During this round of the Green Industry Congress, Arya Sasol Polymer Company (ASPC) and 3 industrial companies along with 3 service units received the “gold” award. 48 industrial companies and 18 service units also received the “silver” award as the green industrial and service companies.

Arya Sasol Polymer Company (ASPC), had succeeded to win the “gold” award of the 19th and 20th round of the National Congress for Green Industrial and Service Units and the “silver” award of the 18th round. The continuation of the company’s success, in achieving this remarkable achievement during the 21 round of the Green Industry Congress of Iran, is unprecedented.

The National Congress for Green Industrial and Service Units takes place annually in February with the cooperation of the DOE, UNIDO and GIZ (the German Society for International Cooperation) to protect the environment, enhance environmental culture, and promote closer cooperation among the three entities and participants in line with reducing and controlling air pollutants in a competitive atmosphere.

At the Congress, the annual environmental performance of industrial companies in 10 groups of Food, Chemical, Pharmaceutical and Health, Textile, Leather and Cellulose, Agriculture, Metal and Machinery, Oil, Gas and Petrochemical, Power Industries, Non-Metallic Mining, Electricity and Electronics and the recycling industry are evaluated.

Also the performance of the companies participating in the Congress is reviewed by experts from the Secretariat of the Green Industry Congress and the EPA in seven groups, including freight and passenger terminals, management of industrial and residential settlements, health and education services centers, water and wastewater treatment plants, oil, gas and power transmission lines, and centers of creation and development of urban green spaces and parks.
